The III Points Sound Experience: How the Festival Redefines Live Music in Miami
Despacio Returns to Mana Wynwood’s Black Room.
The Black Room (aka the Sound Stadium) at Mana Wynwood has long been a blank canvas for legendary music moments. Year after year, it has hosted Miami Music Week, welcoming major electronic music acts and innovators to its walls. Beyond dance music, the space has also become a stage for some of the most celebrated names in rap and hip-hop, cementing its reputation as one of Miami’s most versatile venues. Simply put, the Black Room was built for sound to take over.
This October, the Black Room transforms once again for one of the most distinctive experiences in live music: Despacio. Conceived in Manchester in 2013 by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and David and Stephen Dewaele of Soulwax/2manydjs, Despacio is powered by towering McIntosh speakers and fueled entirely by vinyl. It’s a space that strips away spectacle and puts sound at the center.
III Points cofounder David Sinopoli captured its essence in a recent Miami New Times feature, describing Despacio as “something you have to do before you die” and “really not a thing to articulate through words” (Grant Albert, Miami New Times, May 20, 2025). In the Black Room, DJs are intentionally hidden from view while a single disco ball becomes the focal point, encouraging the crowd to look inward, outward, and toward each other. The Black Room was made for legendary moments, and Despacio is one of them.
Beyond the immersive stillness of Despacio is Sequence 3, better known as the Rave Cage. Built as a square, enclosed arena of light and sound, it flips the usual stage model. The DJ stands at the front-center, while the sound surges through the entire cage, pulling the crowd into its grip. With its raw, industrial feel and walls alive with graphics and pulsating visuals, the Rave Cage delivers a high-energy contrast to other stages — a festival favorite where underground sounds and cutting-edge visuals collide in true Miami style.
Experience Despacio, Sequence 3, and more at III Points, from October 17–18, 2025. To purchase tickets, visit their website. For updates on Mana Wynwood and our Fall 2025 schedule, follow us on Instagram.
